Once the Grass Is Dry
For a liquid application the guidance is simple. Stay off the treated grass until it has dried. Once it is dry there is nothing wet left to pick up on bare feet or hands.
How long that takes is weather, not chemistry. Sun and a breeze can do it in an hour. A still, cloudy, humid morning takes longer. Kneel down and touch it. If it leaves your hand damp, it is not ready.
The binding answer for any product is on its label, and anybody treating your yard has to follow it. Ask, and you should get a clear answer.
What Parents Actually Need to Know
Practical stuff. Most of it only matters the afternoon we are there.
Dry Means Dry
Do not go by a number somebody quoted you at the door. Go look. If it is still wet from the application, give it longer. If it is dry, you are done waiting.
Rain Later Does Not Reset It
A shower after the product has dried and been taken up does not make it wet with product again. At that point it is just wet grass.
Watch the Granules
Granular is the one worth a second look with little kids, because you can see it sitting on top until it gets watered in. Water it in and let it dry.
Shoes On the Day We Come
Bare feet on freshly treated grass is the thing to skip on application day. After it dries and after a mow or a watering, go back to normal.
