Is Lawn Treatment Safe for Dogs?
Short Answer: Keep Them Off It Until It Dries
We get asked this more than anything else, usually by somebody holding the door half open with a dog behind their leg. Fair question.
The whole precaution is timing. Stay off the lawn until the treatment has dried. Once it is dry on the leaf there is nothing wet left to come off on paws or fur.
What we use is EPA registered and comes with label directions our licensed applicators have to follow, including how long to stay off. That is not a suggestion, it is the law, and the label is the authority on it.
What to Do on Treatment Day
None of this is complicated. Mostly you are just waiting for the grass to dry.
Wait Until It Is Dry
That is really the whole thing. Depending on sun and wind that is usually a couple of hours, longer on a still muggy day. Touch the grass. If your hand comes away damp, give it a while.
Granules Get Watered In
If we put anything down as a granule, water it in and let it dry before the dog goes back out. Loose granules sitting on top are the ones worth keeping a curious dog off of.

Bowls and Toys Come In
Water bowls, chew toys, anything your dog puts in its mouth, bring it in before we get there and put it back out once the lawn is dry.

Say so when you sign up and we will note it on the account. It changes how we handle the gate, where we knock, and how we time the visit.
If You Ever Have a Question
